The CS:GO auto pickup is an infamous feature of the game and a frequent round-loser as it can cause you to cycle weapons in clutch moments, so you’ll want to know how to turn off auto pickup. You can do this in one of two ways: Going into your console and using a command or by using the game settings to disable auto pickups of guns.
CS:GO auto pickup – how to disable with console commands
You can very easily clear up your games and have no more clutches ruined by randomly equipping weapons at the worst time. This is done by copying the command below into your console:
This stops the CS:GO auto pickup weapon from disturbing tense moments, which is hugely important to have off as you steadily increase in skill at the game. To turn auto pickup back on, change the 0 to a 1.
How to disable auto pickup with CS:GO game settings
If you don’t like using console commands for whatever reason, you can also disable auto pickup very simply in the settings. From the home page, click on the Options tab on the far right of the top bar, and select the Game Settings menu. Now, scroll down to the subsection called Item Options. Now, on the option called Switch Weapon on Pick Up, change the Yes to a No and this will turn off the auto pickup feature.
Now when you run over a weapon while you haven’t got one equipped you will still pick it up but won’t equip it automatically.
