How to Defuse the Bomb in CS2

Being able to defuse bombs is one of the most important skills of being a Counter-Terrorist in Counter Strike 2. If CTs didn't have this ability, their chances of winning a round would be thrown out the window as soon as the Terrorists successfully captured a bomb site. Finding the bomb and starting the defuse is pretty simple, however making sure you can endure all 5, or even 10, seconds of the defuse is significantly more challenging.

1. Defuse Bomb Key

To defuse the bomb, you'll first need to walk up to it, and hold down the E key. When done correctly, the following message will appear:

You'll then need to hold down the E key until the bomb is defused. When defused, the Counter-Terrorists win the round.

2. Bomb Defuse Tips (Optional)

If you're looking to improve your chances at defusing the bomb, here are some helpful tips:

• Buy a defuse kit: This reduces the defuse time from 10 seconds to 5 seconds.
• Use smokes and flashes: Throwing down a smoke to mask your position when defusing can help to throw off the enemy. If you can also use flashes, you'll potentially blind enemies trying to stop you from defusing.
• Get a team-mate to cover you: Having a fellow CT lay down covering fire can help distract enemies whilst you defuse the bomb.
• Fake a defuse: If you're unsure on remaining terrorist locations, pressing the E key then letting go instantly will perform a "fake" defuse. You may then be able to catch terrorists off guard who peek, wanting to check if you're defusing or not.
