How to Remove Bots in CS2

It's time to get rid of bots!

Although useful for aim training, bots aren't always necessary when it comes to playing on private servers. Sometimes you'll just want to duel against other real players, or practice smoke lineups without the hassle of other teammates and enemies getting in the way. That's where removing bots comes in, which you'll be able to do through typing a few simple commands into the console!

1. Enable the Developer Console

Skip this step if you already know how to open the developer console.

To use the bot_kick command, you'll need to have the developer console enabled. To do this:

  1. Go to your CS2 settings
  2. Click on the Game tab
  3. Set Enable Developer Console to Yes
  4. With the console enabled, you can open it by pressing the ` or ~ keys.

For more help, check out our guide on enabling and using the developer console.

2. Kick All Bots

Typing the following command into the console will kick every bot on both teams:

bot_kick

3. Kick Bots Based on Team

Typing the following command into the console will kick one bot from the Terrorist team:

bot_kick T

Typing the following command into the console will kick one bot from the Counter-Terrorist team:

bot_kick CT

If you're looking to kick more than one bot from each team, you'll need to retype the commands depending on how many.

4. Kick Specific Bots

To kick a specific bot, you'll need to type the following command into the console, replacing NAME with the bot's name:

bot_kick NAME

For example, typing in the command bot_kick Ulric will only kick the bot named Ulric.

5. How to Add Bots Back (Optional)

Typing the following command will add a bot to the Terrorist team:

bot_add T

Typing the following command will add a bot to the Counter-Terrorist team:

bot_add CT

That's all there is to this guide on how to kick and add bots to your Counter Strike 2 game! If you're looking to improve your gameplay even further, you'll be able to find more console commands here.
